Catering: Aboriginal Student Luncheon – “Caribbean”

Today was our first Aboriginal Student Luncheon and our first catering event of the year! Food Art 11 students worked for half a day yesterday prepping and filling our refrigerators with amazing, tasty, and spicy food for our luncheon today.

Food Art students are required (and encouraged) to organize and volunteer for school event catering opportunities. I am so proud of this semester’s class. They have been wonderful, hardworking, forward-thinking, and inspirational. From a teacher’s perspective, I am incredibly touched by their dedication to our events and constant offers to help out where needed.

Here are some shots from our luncheon today! Also, please find a menu, time plan, and recipes from today’s luncheon below.

Sweet Potato Croquettes

Jerk Tofu

Pineapple Fried Rice

Jerk Chicken Wings

Tropical Green Salad with Coconut-Lime Vinaigrette

Plantain Chips with Lime Salt

Chocolate Mousse with Tropical Fruit and Toasted Coconut
